WALSH has developed remote sensing, GIS and intranet tools to help our clients with emergency response and disaster assessment.

Community Wildfire Protection Plans, Lake County and Harney County, Oregon

Walsh developed Community Wildfire Protection Plans (CWPPs) for Lake County and Harney County, Oregon. For these projects, Walsh provided GIS support, which included geodatabase management and spatial analysis results shown through a series of maps.

Facility Mapping and Contingency Planning.

WALSH acquired aerial images of a dozen production facilities in a remote oil lease block in Peru. The images were georeferenced and merged with engineering and topographic maps. The final product was a set of maps that showed a detailed image of each site. The maps were used for oil spill contingency planning and emergency preparedness.

On-Line Oil Spill Contingency Planning, Ecuador.

For an American oil company operating in Ecuador, Walsh developed an on-line oil spill contingency plan. The on-line database was designed to provide information and data on oil spill planning and management to company personnel, regardless of their location, in a timely manner. Data about potential and existing oil spills can thus be reviewed internally by management, taking advantage of intranet capabilities. The Plan incorporates remote sensing data, a GIS interface, databases, and internet technologies.
